Practial Information
Ramaskrik Film Festival is held at Oppdal Cultural Centre in the municipality of Oppdal. In autumn 2026, the festival will be presented for the 16th time, taking place over five days from 14 to 18 October.
Getting Here
Oppdal is located in the Trøndelag region of Norway, at the foot of the Dovrefjell mountain range, approximately 120 kilometres (75 miles) south of Trondheim. The village is well connected by rail, with trains passing through several times a day, making it easy to reach from both northern and southern Norway.
Train and Bus
SJ’s services on the Dovre Line and Trøndelag Line can be booked through www.entur.no or the EnTur App
VY’s combined train and express coach services between Lillehammer and Trondheim can be booked through www.vy.no or the VY app.
If you are travelling from the south, SJ and VY are your main public transport options. If you are travelling from the north, there are also regional bus services available. Journey planning and ticket information for these services can be found at www.entur.no.
If you are a student in Trondheim, AtB offers very affordable bus fares to Oppdal. Tickets can be purchased through the Entur app, making it an easy and budget-friendly way to travel to the festival.
Train and bus services stop practically at the festival doorstep, that's how short the distances are in Oppdal.
By Car
The E6 highway runs directly through Oppdal,

Route 70 (RV70) provides a direct connection to Oppdal from the northwest,

By air
OK... We do have a small airfield in Oppdal, so if you're arriving by microlight or private plane, that is of course an option. For everyone else, here's what you need to know:
Trondheim Airport (Værnes) is located approximately 150 km (93 miles) north of Oppdal. From there, you can easily continue your journey by train or bus via Trondheim.Oslo Airport (Gardermoen) can be just as convenient, especially if you connect with a departure on the Dovre Line. The train journey to Oppdal takes around 4.5 hours and offers some of Norway’s most beautiful scenery along the way.
Accommodation

The festival kicks off on Wednesday, 14 October.
The festival programme begins on the afternoon of Wednesday, 14 October, with screenings and the Opening Film. The full programme will not be announced until September, but last year the festival started at 4:30 PM, and we expect a similar schedule this year. The final screenings begin at approximately 3:00 PM on Sunday, 18 October. Quality Hotel Skifer offers an especially attractive discounted rate from Wednesday to Thursday.

Please make sure to mention that you are attending the festival when booking your room. The whole hotell is reserved for the festival, not for any other guests.
